TRAVEL UPDATE - CUSTOMS OFFICERS PLAN STRIKE ACTION

October 24, 2011

Customs and border protection employees are proposing a 24-hour strike at Sydney, Melbourne and Perth airports, Thursday October 27 2011.

The 24-hour strike will begin at airports from midnight tomorrow.

Two-hour walk outs are also expected to take place on Thursday at Brisbane, Adelaide and Darwin airports.

If the strike action goes ahead international travellers can expect processing delays.

Passengers should factor in additional time into their schedules to allow for customs processing for both arriving and departing flights.
